Over the course of 2000 years, the Christian Church has developed a sophisticated language of symbols and rituals to effectively minister to our soul. A healthy soul has tremendous benefits for our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Unfortunately, most people—including those who regularly go to church—don’t understand the full meaning behind those symbols and rites. In some churches, many of those symbols and rites have become neglected or abandoned. Additionally, our society, with all its materialism and entertainments, has distracted us from giving appropriate attention to our soul’s condition. Jesus asked,

“What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26).

 Join us for an informative and inspiring discussion on Christian symbols and rituals, and how they impact the state of our soul. Each week we will thoroughly explore a spiritual object, ceremony, or discipline, and examine together its value for improving our lives. We will specifically address:

The main presenter will be Father Michael Bressem. He is an ordained deacon

in the Russian Orthodox Church with a masters degree in theology,

and he is a clinical psychologist with a doctorate degree.

He has 30+ years of experience integrating Christianity with psychology.

Additionally, various guest presenters will be invited to address the class.
