We welcome all members and visitors to our parish here in Hawaii. As we receive many visitors each week, for which we are very thankful, however we find that the practice of receiving Holy Communion across the Orthodox World varies much. So we are providing these guidelines for those who wish to receive Holy Communion at our parish.
We ask that only Orthodox Christians in good standing may receive Holy Communion in our parish, and that persons receiving Holy Communion does proper preparation which include fasting, a recent confession (within the last week), being at peace with others, attending Great Vespers the night before, and being on time to the Divine Services. It is best to see the rector before the start of the divine service before approaching the Chalice.
If you have questions concerning this, please ask Fr. Athanasius.
