We welcome all visitors to our parish here in Hawaii. As we receive many visitors each week, for which we are very thankful, however we find that the practice of receiving Holy Communion across the Orthodox Christian World varies much. So we are providing these guidelines for those who wish to receive the Divine Eucharist at our parish.
We ask that only Orthodox Christians in good standing may receive Holy Communion in our church, and that persons receiving Holy Communion have engaged in proper preparation which include fasting, a recent confession (within the last month), being at peace with others, attending Great Vespers the night before, and being on time to the Divine Services. It is best to see the rector before the start of the divine service before approaching the Sacred Chalice.
If you have questions concerning this, please speak with Fr. Nectarios.
