Guidelines for receiving holy communion

We welcome all members and visitors to our parish here in Hawaii.  As we receive many visitors each week, for which we are very thankful, however we find that the practice our receiving communion across the Orthodox world varies much.  So we are providing these guidelines for those who wish to receive holy communion at our parish.  We ask that first only Orthodox Christians can receive communion in our church, and that the person receiving communion does proper preparation which includes faithful fasting, recent confession (within the last week), being at peace with others, attending vespers the night before, and being on time to the divine services.

If you have questions concerning this, please ask Fr. Athanasius.
